Higher-capacity period pants can be an option for managing very heavy flow, but no one product suits everyone. Our Ultra Heavy Flow style offers up to 100 ml capacity. Start by checking fit, try the pants at home and change as often as your flow requires.

No. The figure is a stated absorbent capacity. Fit, movement, rapid flow and where fluid reaches the garment can affect performance. Choose a secure fit and check regularly rather than waiting for the pants to reach their maximum capacity.

There is no fixed wear time for everyone. It depends on flow, fit and how quickly the absorbent section fills. Change if the pants feel wet or uncomfortable, if you notice leakage, or sooner when your flow requires it. A 100 ml capacity does not mean a guaranteed 12 hours.

These pants have built-in absorbent protection and can be worn alone when the capacity and fit meet your needs. Some customers prefer additional protection while learning their flow or during very heavy episodes. Keep spare protection available and change whenever needed.

They should fit snugly around your waist, legs and gusset without digging in. The absorbent lining needs to sit close to your body; gaps around the legs or gusset can allow fluid to escape. Always check the Liberty size guide before ordering.

The absorbent layers can manage menstrual fluid, but a sudden gush may reach the edges before it is fully absorbed. Blood clots may remain on the surface rather than soaking into the lining. If you regularly pass large clots or experience flooding, speak to your GP.

Rinse after use, then hand-wash in warm soapy water or machine-wash with similar colours at no more than 30°C. Do not use fabric softener. Hang the pants to dry completely before wearing them again.

The moisture-wicking inner layer is designed to draw fluid away from the skin, while the soft fabric helps the pants feel comfortable. Ultra-absorbent pants may feel more substantial than ordinary underwear, but they should not remain wet against your skin. If they feel wet, change into a fresh pair.

They should not develop a strong odour when they are changed as needed, washed thoroughly and allowed to dry completely. Persistent odour can indicate trapped residue or incomplete drying. Avoid fabric softener because it can coat the fibres and reduce absorbency.

You need enough heavy or ultra-heavy flow period pants for your daytime and overnight changes while other pairs are being washed and dried, plus a spare.For example, if you use three pairs across a day and night and washing and drying takes two days, around seven pairs could cover that routine, including a spare. These results relate to the materials and tests described in the report; they do not independently verify the 35ml or 100ml absorbency claims or guarantee irritation-free wear for everyone.

Speak to your GP if heavy bleeding affects your daily life, you need to change protection every one to two hours, use two period products together, bleed for more than seven days, pass clots larger than approximately 2.5cm, bleed through clothing or bedding, or frequently feel tired or short of breath. Measure your natural waist and fullest part of your hips, then check the measurements for your chosen style. If you are between sizes, contact Ann before ordering. Different styles can fit differently.

Follow the care label for the exact style. Do not assume that every Heavy or Ultra Heavy Flow garment has the same drying instructions. Check the product's care information or ask Ann before tumble drying.
