About Liberty Underwear
Jersey-born period and continence care
Liberty Underwear is a Jersey-based reusable period and continence underwear brand founded by Ann Muhoro in 2021. We design period underwear, period swimwear and continence underwear for adults and teenagers, serving customers across Jersey and the United Kingdom.
Our story
Liberty Underwear began in Jersey when founder Ann Muhoro and her three daughters started learning more about adolescence, periods and sustainable living.
Ann discovered that finding reliable, affordable reusable period products in Jersey was not easy. Deliveries could take weeks, and buying online did not always guarantee the comfort, absorbency or quality she needed.
She founded Liberty Underwear to make dependable reusable protection more accessible starting with period underwear and swimwear and later expanding the collection to include products for very heavy periods and women’s and men’s continence care.
Today, Liberty supports teenagers experiencing their first periods, adults managing light to ultra-heavy flows, swimmers who want protection in the water, and people looking for a more discreet and dignified way to manage bladder leaks.

Independently tested in the United Kingdom
Liberty Underwear commissioned independent fabric safety testing from a UK laboratory to give customers greater reassurance about the materials used in the products.
The tested outer fabric and inner gusset fabric showed:

No formaldehyde detected

No silver detected in the separate silver analysis

Fabric pH results of 5.5 for the outer fabric and 5.7 for the inner gusset

Only faint observations under the laboratory’s in-house screening method, including faint dye leaching from the outer fabric in hot and cold water
These results relate to the specific fabrics and samples submitted for testing. Liberty Underwear presents the laboratory findings accurately and does not claim that the testing constitutes medical approval or certification.

About Liberty Underwear's Founder
Ann Muhoro is the founder of Liberty Underwear and a mother of three daughters. Her interest in sustainable living, women’s health, outdoor activity and community education shaped Liberty’s purpose.
Ann wanted to create products that would allow people to attend school, work, swim, exercise, sleep and travel with greater confidence. Her experience as a mother and community advocate continues to guide Liberty’s product development and educational work.
